Message from the Dean of Pharmaceutical Sciences

We Aim to Develop Highly Specialized Professionals

In this project, we accept excellent students from Japan, China, Korea and other countries into our Graduate School, and aim at development of highly skilled professionals in the field of pharmacy on the basis of the historical tradition of the pharmaceutical industry in Toyama prefecture and the cultivated spirit for research and education in the University of Toyama.

In Ph.D. Program of the Graduate School of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences for Education (Pharmaceutical Sciences), we will establish courses mainly on the field of natural medicine for the first time in the field of pharmacy, and conduct long-term internships at hospitals and companies. We will develop professional experts who are familiar with natural medicine (clinical pharmacists) by providing comprehensive experience of actual work as clinical pharmacists through long-term internships at hospitals and pharmacies specialized in Kampo-medicine. At the same time, we will develop professional experts who are familiar with natural medicine (researchers and technicians) by providing comprehensive experience of research, development, and quality control through long-term internships at pharmaceutical companies knowledgeable about natural medicine.

In this project, all faculty members will support education and research for the students. Also, coordinators fluent in Chinese and Korean will provide support for the long-term internships and day-to-day living of students.
