While part of the Ph.D. Program, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Graduate School of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences for Education or the Pharmaceutical Science Doctorate Program, students are given the opportunity to take part in a three month training session at hospitals and pharmaceutical companies in the Toyama prefecture area. Through this program, students with the goal of becoming pharmacists or researchers can work towards familiarizing themselves with natural medicine and natural medicine formulations. At affiliated hospitals, students can learn the duties of a medical professional and medical team, as well as get practice compounding natural medicine and overseeing the administering of drugs. At affiliated pharmaceutical companies, students can take part in natural medicine research and development, as well as product quality control.
